Mind blowing experience @ Jungfraujoch

Visiting Switzerland was on my travel wishlist for 2022 but honestly it wasn’t so top of mind for me and I was going to push it to 2023. But…on this beautiful day, while on a call with my friend and big sis - Mimz - she said let’s plan a quick trip na. A few options came to mind like Croatia, Austria, Malta and Switzerland. After considering the # of days we had, we settled for Zurich, Switzerland.

freezing but maintaining beauty ;)

I had a rough idea of what we’ll get up to in Zurich like the visiting the chocolate factory, doing a boat cruise on lake zurich and visiting the old town but thanks to Mimz who also found out we could go on a day trip to Interlaken - Jungfraujoch (The Top of Europe). This was during summer so I didn’t think anywhere in Europe would be anything less than 25 degrees but I was met with disappointment after I checked the weather app, only to find out it was freakingggg cold (6 degrees issh).

Summer snow haha

We were already in Zurich (without any winter outfits of course) when I found out somewhere in the same country was so cold and would even experience snow and rainfall. We had to go shopping for thick sweaters and prayed that the weather won’t be so bad.

Interlaken was simply breathtaking!!! I’ve never seen anything so beautiful and organic like that town. The nature, lakes, valleys and activities. Just simply beautiful! Interlaken (meaning between two beautiful lakes) is a town located in a small valley of the magnificent Alps. Interlaken also marks the starting point of the trip to Jungfraujoch, also known as the top of Europe

Jungfraujoch is a glacial saddle, which connects the two major peaks of Bernese Alps: Jungfrau and Monch, with an elevation of over 3,466 meters above sea level. The Jungfraujoch railway station is also the highest in all of Europe with an elevation of 3,454 metres and thus earning it the title - Top of Europe. It is part of the UNESCO World Heritage sites.

Inside Jungfraujoch we toured the Alpine sensation, Sphinx observation deck, Ice Palace, Lindt chocolate factory, Etc. Experiencing one of the most iconic places in the world felt so special to me - no wonder some people call Switzerland the land of “Milk and Moneyyyyy”!!! because everything just seems unreal.

This entire trip is one I will forever be grateful for because its an absolute once in a lifetime experience that I will treasure forever.
